Futons, not just for dorms and dens
Most college students and young couples are familiar with the futon, that descendant of traditional Japanese beds. In Japan, a large mattress is placed on a two-inch foundation of reeds woven together. The western version is also easily moved and accommodates a small area or an area that must serve multiple purposes. A futon does not have to be confined to dorm rooms and Asian-inspired decorating any more. Their traditional versatility still makes them an option for today’s homes.
